Local Drinking Water Source Protection Plan Public Consultation (September 9 to October 14, 2024)
Owen Sound, ON – Proposed amendments to the approved Source Protection Plan and Assessment Reports for the Saugeen, Grey Sauble, Northern Bruce Peninsula Source Protection Region are now available for review and comment. The draft amendments include new/amended Wellhead Protection Areas for Scott Point in the Municipality of Kincardine and Minto Pines in the Town of Minto. There is also a policy change (02-05) for discretionary septic maintenance inspections around Lake Rosalind in the Municipality of Brockton. Furthermore, minor edits to snow storage threat policies and impervious surface area map legends are being made to comply with updated 2021 Ministry Technical Rules. These updates under Section 34 and Section 51 of the Clean Water Act (2006) can be found on the home.waterprotection.ca website on the Source Protection Plan page – Consultation 2024 Directory.
The Source Protection Committee will consider any comments received and make revisions as necessary.

Drinking Water Source Protection is a program governed by legislation and regulations of the Clean Water Act, 2006. The Source Protection Plan is a science-based document that was developed locally and written for this Source Protection Region. The Source Protection Plan was approved by the Minister of the Environment and Climate Change on October 16, 2015. Policies in the plan became effective on July 1, 2016.
